Toy Robot Transforms iPhones Into Pet Dogs | AdFlipoff

Smart Pet is an electronic pet, controlled via your smartphone. This dog robot was created by toymaker Bandai and debuted at the 2012 International Tokyo Toy Show yesterday. Only compatible with iOS so far, the toy comes with the Smart Pet app which allows users to interact with the dog. Smart Pet owners can give it virtual food, play virtual games, all the while developing the pup?s personality. The robotic toy itself can walk around (top speed: three steps per second), sit up, and wag its tail. Using voice and gesture recognition, the app is able to respond to user stimuli using more than 100 reactions on the iPhone screen. Toy-maker Bandai was awarded winner of the ?Innovative Toys? category for the product. Yoko Kato, a member of the Innovative toy team of Bandai, says of the new toy:

There are a lot of people who may not be able to keep pets inside their houses, so we really recommend this product for them. For those people who already have pets, they could buy the ?Smart Pet? and their real pets can play with the ?Smart Pet? as another friend.

The Smart Pet will be available this month in white or black for about $100 in Japan. Watch a video of the interactive new gadget below.
