It was just going to be called Harrah?s Baltimore, but since the location will feature 80 ? 110 table games (as allowed per Maryland?s Question 7) in addition to slots, Caesars Entertainment will be calling the casino by the brand it uses for all its table game sites outside of Las Vegas: Horseshoe. Horseshoe Baltimore, to be precise.
Yeah, I get it ? horseshoe, luck, gambling. But say it to yourself, ?Horseshoe Baltimore.? It sounds trashy. Or maybe it doesn?t sound like anything at all. It?s partially the lack of the definite article. ?Horseshoe? makes me think of throwing horseshoes, which is plenty fun, but about as far from the ambiance of a casino as you could get. ?The Horseshoe? wouldn?t evoke a rural barbecue as immediately, but even that seems somewhat off-key.
Would Question 7 ?have passed if voters had known?
